For over 20 years, Jennifer M. Simmons has focused her practice on family law matters, such as adoption, divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, protective orders, property settlement agreements, prenuptial agreements, and post-divorce disputes, among other areas. She has extensive experience advising clients and litigating issues within all areas of family law. She practices in the Circuit and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts within the greater Fredericksburg area, to include the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, and Caroline. Ms. Simmons routinely handles Military divorces, Military Retirement Orders, Retirement Benefit Court Orders, all types of Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs), as well as uncontested divorces throughout the Commonwealth.
Ms. Simmons was born and raised outside Chicago, Illinois and moved to Virginia to attend Washington & Lee University School of Law. After law school, Ms. Simmons spent several years representing criminal defendants for the Public Defender’s Office in Danville, Virginia and later as an associate attorney with the Law Office of M.R. Reamy in Fredericksburg, Virginia. These cases included traffic infractions, misdemeanors, and felonies such as malicious wounding, drug distribution and sex offenses.
Ms. Simmons and her husband, Ed, keep busy with their four wonderful children and three beautiful grandchildren.
